Moonlight Shimmering Off The Water

Powerful boat engines ignite, breaking the silence and infusing the night with excitement.

A metaphoric vision of Black WakeSurf. Ready to ride?

Or better yet, one strum of this Angel in Black WakeSurf, pumped through your favorite amp, infusing everyone within earshot with joy and celebration and unity.

Such is the power of electric music. Hey, it has actually transformed our world’s culture in many ways—often with an extremely positive message of hope, for instance: All You Need Is Love. And the offerings just go on and on. Select your favorites and play. It will make a difference.

This Angel, with our highly sought after Black WakeSurf paint scheme, has an extra touch of class at the headstock—a custom Blue Logo.

A powerful HSH pickup array of H1, SF1 H3—from neck to bridge—offers aggressive and super musical pickup tonalities that will also split down to impressive single coil sounds when so desired.

All this, super versatile, easy to use switching and 24 frets means this Angel can pretty much do it all, especially if grabbing one guitar and off to the gig is your preferred method of packing.

Where is this one going: Headed to hang with Brian and Trey at The (one and only) Guitar Sanctuary in McKinney, Texas. Great store. You will enjoy them—and this magnificent guitar.

So There’s This Thing...

You want a vintage guitar—almost everyone does—but they can often be kind of “ragged.” Many times part of the deal. Okay.

But you want yours to be awesome and an excellent performer—of course, who wouldn’t?

And even better, it should sound and look like the best vintage guitar you have ever heard or seen—even if it is gig-worn.

And wouldn’t it be so great if it also played extraordinarily well, with beauty and grace and flow—like almost effortless.

Well...!

Icon Classic

And once you’ve played one...

Yep.

This Black over Tobacco Burst, Icon projects the most gorgeously authentic and lush vintage single tones ever heard, courtesy of a balanced set of our richly wound VA-series pickups—staggered, alnico magnet pole pieces.

All the “spice” you are looking for from this style of pickup, done in a full-bodied vintage way.

And yes, it is true that true single coil pickups can hum—but did you ever listen to Jimi and enjoy the song less because of it?

Probably not.

But still, if you think that 60-cycle hum could keep you, and the engineer, from fully bonding with original style single coil pickups, this In-Distress, Icon is also equipped with a hum-cancelling system—built specifically to counterbalance the 60-cycle wave form from this style of pickup. We have several artist that really love this setup.

Where is this one going: Headed to Sound Pure in Durham, North Carolina. Yes, we have said it before but it is so true, these “guys” really do have a knack for ordering some of the coolest guitars ever.

Li’l Angel Of The Arctic

One of our most sought after colors of all time, Arctic Blue Burst brings polar popularity to this Li’l Angel.

Shown with a Tubular Quilted Maple Top, many say it reminds them of rolling waves upon a turbulent surface. Really Beautiful.

Li’l Angel is our fun way of denoting that this is a short-scale (24 3/4-inch) Angel with a Drop Top-sized body and elongated horns to gain access to the uppermost frets—23, & 24. A fantastically easy guitar to handle and play.

An Alder body back finished in Light Transparent Brown is an excellent companion to its natural Caramel Maple neck—giving the overall rearview of the guitar a nicely harmonizing impression.

Where is this one going: Headed north, but not as far north as you may think. On its way to Matt’s Music Center in Weymouth, Massachusetts. They specced it and cannot wait to share it with you.

Rev Up Your…Guitar

Full throttle, downshift, touch the brakes, dive into the corner, just after the apex, power on, exit the corner, full throttle, up shift and down the back straightaway.

Stuck like glue, it’s a high performance machine.

And even with its In-Distress, Level 3, Double Decker demeanor, this Icon is definitely ultra-high performance as well, presented for no-NAMM 2021 in two In-Distress colors: Corvette Yellow over Black.

A Mint White Pickguard houses twin SC1 pickups at the neck and middle positions, while an unbridled H2+ hammers home humbucker tones but can still play nice when desired.

Where is this one going: This was the vision of the “guys” at Mass Street Music, in Lawrence, Kansas. They just couldn’t wait to show this one to you.

Like A Monk

That journeys to the top of a remote peak in the Himalayas, in search of just the right flowering plant for their mystical pink tea…

Hunter (of Anderson Guitarworks Finishing) has been on a quest to brew up just the right shade of Transparent Pink, to enliven and brighten the Maple Tops of Anderson Guitars.

Now back from the top of the mountain, Transparent Pink comes to fruition for the first time on this Drop Top Classic

Why Pink?

As we have said before, Pink is the new Black—a greatly desired guitar shade in both solid and transparent versions.

And speaking of Pink and Black, as you can see, when Pink is in concert with Black appointments, it can make a very powerful and beautiful visual statement.

But there is even more. Flip it over and take a look. The theme is supported by the Swamp Ash body back, finished in an impressive blend of Black with Magenta Dog Hair to complement its new pinkness. Wow.

Where is this one going: This distinctively original Drop Top Classic is headed to Distinctive Guitar in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; they do know the value of requesting the fruits of the quest for pink.

And Now…Level 0

And what does that mean, Level 0?

It means that this is a new offering into the Anderson world of In-Distress paint finishes.

In-Distress, Level 0

Proverbially speaking:

Found; it must have belonged to someone who bought it a very long time ago and never really played it. Just shoved it under the bed for safe keeping.

What an excellent find. In really good condition, old and yet venerated.

Almost looks new in an old way. The finish will check and dull over time, of course, but still in really good condition.

And it plays excellently—because it is and Anderson. That should go without saying. But it’s fun to say anyway.

Yes, now available, In-Distress, Level 0

And check out this superb instrument’s other attributes:

T-Classic with our new MC-series pickups in the neck and middle positions.

MC is a mini-humbucker projecting massive tone. Fullness with soft, abundant clarity and presence. Less power and more definition than our full-sized humbuckers or P-series pickups, they project with more oomph and mid-focus than traditional single coils. These pickups can take you into a forgiving musical world of full and easy articulate and multi-dimensional tones.

And to gain complete command over all the subtleties and nuances a tremolo can offer, this is the beautifully, touch-sensitive bridge that can do it, while playing impeccably in tune.  Such a real joy to experience.

Anderson’s J-Trem

Guardian Of The New

Gaining access to 24 frets on a gorgeous, maple-topped, pickguard-styled guitar, it is Guardian Angel. (An Angel with a Pickguard).

This one featuring an ominously cool look with all-black hardware and pickup covers providing support for its Atlantic Storm to Black Edge Burst finish.

Atlantic Storm is a transparent bluish-black shade that is super popular for Anderson Guitars. If you look closely you can see its slightly blue hue influencing the black and grays.

This one is rather new with its Black Edge Burst—a thin edge of black, following the perimeter of the body—to further heighten drama.

And to add even more fun to this one, a behind-the-scenes picture of Sean and photoing in 2021. Please also note the Avengers mask constructed and sewn by our very own Rachel of Anderson Guitarworks.

Where is this one going: Headed to Eddie’s Guitars in Maplewood, Missouri. They all knew how cool this one would be. And they were so, so right.

Superbird Of A Different Feather

Raven—by now we all know what specific attributes it takes to make a Raven a Superbird—like what it takes to make a Mustang a Shelby GT 500…

Or what it takes to make an S or a T a Cobra…or what it takes to make an Angel an Arc Angel—all the same.

Let’s review, shall we:

Superbird is a Raven with:

• Shorty (24 3/4-inch) scale length

• Mahogany Body

• Mahogany Neck Back

Or…

• White Limba Body

• White Limba Neck Back

Wait… What?…

Yes, White Limba? (Also referred to as Korina.)

So, it is the short-scale and mahogany structure that brings focus, power and aggression to Superbird.

And now you can also do that with White Limba (Korina).

Limba brings the same mahogany-like power and focus to Superbird but Limba offers a touch of presence with its predominant midrange muscularity.

This one finished in Tinted Natural, you can see Limba’s predominate grain pattern shining through.

Where is this one going: Headed to Nashville. It will be under the care of Tony Higbee at the Nashville Guitar Center’s Platinum Room (one of only two Guitar Center stores in the country to exclusively and actively carry Anderson Guitars).

Pining Away For Your Favorite Guitar

Yes, this very well could be your new favorite T—a T-Icon to be exact.

What makes this one so unique is its Roasted Pine body—not only giving it its unique look but also imparting a very percussive (soft attack) voice that falls somewhere between the sonic signature of Alder and Basswood.

This one is finished in Satin Rustic Brown.

To further expound: Roasted Pine renders the soft attack of Basswood but with a broader bandwidth, reminiscent of an Alder-like instrument.

So indeed, Pine does have its own, beautiful and musical voice that is not too dark and not too bright with an extremely pleasing pronunciation of each note.

This body wood has been very well received into the electric guitar community and will cover all your T needs with a softer and more forgiving demeanor for ease of appropriating your sound.

Where is this one going: Well Brian and Graham would have you know that they snagged this Rustic Brown, T-Icon for Brian’s Guitar’s in Connecticut.

Fire This One Up

And it quickly becomes evident, Bobcat is a radical performance-based instrument. It is simply Single-Cut madness and joy at its best.

To have a guitar with a heightened ergonomic design, that plays this extraordinarily well and is so ridiculously resonant is a fantastic playing experience. Feels like it wants to effortlessly sustain for “days” with fatness, fullness, smooth articulation and an unforgettable fun factor that is off the charts.

Couple that to an astonishingly, flowing neck feel and it really does call you onward with a liquid-smooth action beyond experience.

Sounds like hyperbole, but it is not. It is just what happens when you encounter a Bobcat in the wild. (Plus I get to use the word hyperbole in a sentence). But really, not kidding, so good.

Flame Maple Carved Top chosen in Fire Burst is the finishing touches to this Bobcat’s extraordinary identity.

Where is this one going: Fuller’s Guitar is a warm and welcoming professional guitar shop in the Houston, Texas, area. They will treat you, and this Bobcat, right.

We Are Still Immersed In WakeSurf

Yes, you have seen Purple Wake Surf (previously known as Royal Purple WakeSurf—same color) but you have not seen it this way.

On an Arc Angel…

Quick, Pop Quiz: What defines an Arc Angel and how is it differentiated from an Angel or a Li’l Angel?

Correct, Arc Angel is unique in the same way Cobra is unique to the T and S family guitars.

Arc Angel is an Angel with:

• Shorty (24 3/4-inch) scale length (Li’l Angel)

• Mahogany Body Back

• Mahogany Neck Back

Or…

• White Limba Body Back

• White Limba Neck Back

Wait… What?…

White Limba? (Also referred to as Korina, at times.)

Yes, this is the first Purple WakeSurf, Arc Angel, featuring a Naturally finished, White Limba Body and Neck back.

Sonically, Limba has a strong, mahogany-like quality, but with more presence. Some may say it is prettier sounding with more high end and some may say it is brighter. But once you pick on it, you can pick your choice of sonic superlatives that best describe this character.

Where is this one going: It just stands to reason that this unique Arc Angel is headed to Make’n Music in Northfield, Illinois. It’s Teddy; he envisioned it and will have it at Make’n Music—until…you do.

A Little Cream With Your Coffee?

Oh yes, a new color is brewing at Anderson Guitarworks.

It is called: Mocha WakeSurf, steaming up your screen on this no-NAMM Show, 2021, Drop Top.

And the cream...?

In the form of two SC1 single coil pickup covers and HC2 humbucker ring, to brighten its face to the crowd and for an oh-so-nice touch of class.

Where is this one going: Headed to Northeast Music Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where Jack and Tyler are feeling really good about this guitar they have to share with you.

Yes, A Brand New Model: Top T-Icon

A new flair to an old friend, a Top T-Icon is a gorgeous conglomeration of a Maple Topped, T-type guitar, with full body contours, and a Traditional 3 Saddle bridge that surrounds the bridge single coil pickup.

Excellent tone and awesome looks all together in one stunningly beautiful guitar of unequalled playing performance and precise intonation—because you know, we would do it no other way.

The structure of this bridge further defines, Top T-Icon’s attributes as it must have a single coil-style pickup in the bridge position (of course) and possess a 25 1/2-inch scale length to keep everything in exemplary alignment.

The drama of this uniquely wild flame top is further escalated by its Natural Arctic Blue hued presentation.

Where is this one going: Headed to Lark Guitars in San Antonio, Texas, under the watchful care of Clint, Albert and Ben—until, “Hello, yes it just arrived…”

Some Are Calling Brian A Genius

Of course that is mainly his mother and his wife saying that, but hey…I’m sure they know him best.

Brian took one look at the Raven in Black with Red Dog Hair that we took to last year’s NAMM in 2020 and thought…”that would look fantastic in Green Dog Hair.”

So that is what he did.

Brian specced a Raven with a Swamp Ash body in Black with Green Dog Hair—and everyone gasp as we open the case. Even more gasping when we set it up on its no-NAMM display for 2021.

With Black appointments and Black covered HC-series humbucks, this Raven could fly (or jam) into the night with an ultra, unparalleled coolness factor.

Where is this one going: Headed to Pitbull Audio in San Diego, California. It will be under the care of Brian Harris, Ben Anderson and Fernando Fajardo, at least until it makes an appearance at your next performance.

A Time-Honored Cherry Burst Finish

Graces the exterior persona of this Cobra. Its shorter, 24 3/4-inch scale length, Mahogany body back and Mahogany neck back define it as such…a Cobra. These three primary aspects are the essence of the entire Cobra family for both T and S models.

Anderson’s legendary “crusher,” this is the magic formula that concentrates midrange, welcoming it to rip with full-blown humbucker tones while still retaining important articulation to lay into the mix with and ever-present demeanor.

Open-face, HC-series pickups allow for overwound and super-musical PAF -type tones while opening up an impressive world of alternate single coil sounds, when needed. When there isn’t time to grab your designated single coil guitar, Cobra does an impressive job of covering all the bases. So much so that many players rely on one Cobra to do it all.

Where is this one going: Headed to Five Star Guitar in Beaverton Oregon. An excellent source for easy expertise.

And The 2021 NO-NAMM Show Begins

And since there is no official NAMM Show this 2021 year, for Anderson Guitarworks, we are celebrating a new year and an ever-rising loving, human consciousness where we make our way together to higher ground—in every way. We celebrate and honor you.

Shimmering, Swirling Purples, Blues and Grays radiate forth, reminiscent of the glow of an abalone shell as it catches the light.  Hence this Drop Top’s color name: Abalone.

Super special, this one also features a Swamp Ash body back finished in TV White with a complementary White Headstock—an astounding look.

Cream appointments of Single Coil covers and Humbucker Ring add expression and personality.

And of course this Drop Top features Anderson’s unparalleled playability, it could be no other way.

Where is this one going: Headed to Nashville. It will be under the care of Tony Higbee at the Nashville Guitar Center’s Platinum Room (one of only two Guitar Center stores in the country to exclusively and actively carry Anderson Guitars).
