What’s Dog Hair?
It is a very intensive, hand finished application that enables us to create these dramatic Dog Hair finishes.
The Dog Hair style finish is denoted by the Black or White body base color, with the pores in the wood grain filled with a variety of colors. This of course only works well on wood with larger pores such as Swamp Ash and Okoume (very similar in tone and looks to Mahogany). See our Tonewoods description page for more info.
Editor’s Note: Dog Hair…not to be confused with our Organic Grain Satin finishes. Organic Grain has a woody, wood grain texture where Dog Hair—both Gloss and Satin—is smooth to the touch.
