Another Olympic Champion

As the Anderson Guitarworks 40th Anniversary Celebration continues full force, some might say that the festivities in France are still going strong with the post olympian presentation of this 40th Anniversary, Limited Edition Angel—its Flame Maple Top’s dramatically wild wood grain further spiced up by a beautiful Ginger Burst finish.

As you probably know by now, in celebration, only 40 Limited Edition, 40th Anniversary Guitars will be created. 20 unique builds. This essentially means two renditions of each exclusive instrument—with a variant here and there. This Angel is headed to our good friends in France, Guitars Rebellion.

Although this gorgeous Ginger Burst Angel’s intrinsic mid-focused timbre is supported and sustained by its Basswood back, it is also highly influenced by Ashe.

How is that even possible?

What is really going on here?

How can two tone woods with very different traditional tonal trajectories both be influencing the wonderful timbre of this guitar? Given the laws of sonic wood physics, is that even possible without a means of hyper-jumping into a parallel universe of otherworldly sounds?

But, before we hyper-jump into unsubstantiated, parallel universe possibilities, let’s put the study of sonic physics aside for a moment and move to another field of study…literature…more precisely, spelling.

We said this guitar was highly influenced by Ashe. We did not say, highly influenced by Ash or Swamp Ash. These are very different from one another for the Ashe to which we are referring is not a wood at all but a “real boy” (perhaps similar to Pinocchio after the Blue Fairy pinged him with her wand—but that is a tale for another time).

The Ashe of which we speak is the Anderson Artist: Sean Ashe (yes, same initials as Swamp Ash). Such a fantastic player and such a nice human being. An impressive combination.

It was Sean, while speccing his 2nd Angel with us 10 years ago; he suggested this new and dramatic color and also suggested we call it Ginger Burst. The color seemed to suit him—and others—very well. Sean got the very first one. It was an instant hit and he played it, figuratively, everywhere. That very guitar is now surreptitiously appearing on a poster in the background of this 40th Anniversary, Ginger Burst, Angel photo session.

Check out Sean’s  playing as we share some quick and fun Sean facts.

• Sean has been playing our guitars and been an Anderson Artist for 25% of our happy Anderson Guitarworks history.

• 1/3rd of his entire Earthly life, he has been an Anderson Guitar Player.

Today we say thank you to Sean and his Ashe-ness. We are very happy to celebrate this Ginger Burst generated auspicious Anderson, 40th Anniversary, Limited Edition event with all of you. Thank you.
