A tailpiece-type tremolo, it has a different feel and function than a tremolo bridge that tips forward and back to drop and raise pitch. A tailpiece tremolo slides the strings across the saddles for a subtler action with more room for delicate nuances. Many players will even “drop D” with this bridge without the need to re-tune.
