Vintage Colors Can Be Pretty

Yes they can.

Lately, in Guitar Tales, we have shown you a lot of vintage colors that have been: In -Distress—where the finishes have that pleasingly, well-worn look. And yes, we agree that there can be something special and cool about an instrument that looks as though it is very experienced in the worldly matters of playing and performing.

But what if you love the combination of new and vintage together? Many do. We have you covered as well, with something gorgeous.

Yes, as you already know, you can get all of our vintage colors as glossy and new.

Demonstrated on this quintessential T-Icon, its Lake Placid Blue color radiates, all pretty, vintage and new.

Makes some people just want to dive right into Lake Placid…

Blue, that is—shimmering in the light.

And for more Anderson fun: two similar guitars at the ready—one with In-Distress paint and one Glossy and New…

Blindfold me, blindfold me and then place a guitar in my hands—either one—and don’t tell me which is which.

Listen carefully. Strum it. Let it resonate. Listen deeply. Play single notes. Let them ring out. Listen to the sustain and the rich decay with vibrato. Strum more chords, both simple and complex. Let them ring. How does it sound?

Gorgeous.

Switch guitars, do it again and again—back and forth.

Can you tell blindfolded? Do you know which paint you are playing? Can you tell if the instrument is finished as an In-Distress or as New?

Leave the blindfold on. Switch guitars, do it again and again—back and forth. Can you sonically tell which paint you are playing?

After extensive testing over months of repeat sessions, we could not. Both gorgeous sounding.

This could be due to the fact that we painstakingly apply our new paints as “micro-thin” and breathable exteriors so they do not inhibit the flow tone that just wants to gush forth from an Anderson Guitar.

What does this all mean to you?

Feel free to order your favorite color with your favorite style of finish.
