The One Color We Could Not Conceal
/NAMM 2025
Apparently demanded to be revealed.
Originally, in response to an Anderson artist’s request, Teal WakeSurf was only supposed to be a one-off artist color because it had all been done experimentally by the hand of an Anderson master painter—a touch of blue here and a splash of yellow there, swirled, mixed, and blended meticulously to form a teal gradient of mysterious origin. Concocted in the Anderson “paint kitchen” without a recipe. Beautiful but mysterious.
And since no one was to ever see it, that could be okay, right!?
Certainly not! We quickly learned: You cannot hide an Anderson Guitarworks masterpiece—nor should you.
Because it had made its way into an artist’s hands, it became very visible. The demand for a teal version of WakeSurf became a total tidal wave of unprecedented teal-driven desire among the Anderson community—and beyond.
Seems grown men and women alike love-love them some teal. Apparently, teal has some sort of significant appeal.
A year or two following this mysterious debut, we had to bring Teal WakeSurf back to life, plunging it into the mainstream view. Back to the “kitchen” for a successful reverse recipe regimental procedure. Then we began to offer the color once again—for the first time really.
With such a significant and powerful history, an Angel of Teal WakeSurf had to appear at The NAMM Show. It could not be denied its place on stage.
So here it is, standing tall in all its glory. And the story continues…
As this very distinctive and appealing Angel, in all its tremendous teal glory, arrives at Distinctive Guitar in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A wonderful store that has something very special in store for you, as you can definitely and dynamically see here in the pages of Guitar (teal) Tales.
