They Are Now Among Us

The first 3 make their presence known—an unprecedented event here on planet Earth.

No not extraterrestrials, but yes, other worldly instruments from Anderson Guitarworks are now landing.

In celebration of Anderson Guitarworks 40th Anniversary, 40 Very Special, Limited Edition Guitars will be created.

All with spectacular specs and a callout to our illustrious guitar building history and tradition. As such, we will be providing clues as to how each one may fit into our rich lineage.

These are the first three to make their debut.

1. Grand Am, a model from our past that we have always loved. The Grand Am is definitively defined by its gorgeous, non-traditional, exotic wood body. A snake skin-like grain pattern clearly identifies it as Lacewood; producing a lush and thick, musical tone. We initially created the Lacewood Grand Am to run and gun with thicker sounding guitars before Cobra appeared on the scene. Grand Am re-introduces itself to the world decked out in Transparent Cherry. This wonderful, one-of-a-kind Grand Am will be arriving at Sound Pure in Durham, North Carolina shortly. A guitar very significant to us, to you and to our history: This one goes to 11…

2. I see the red Cobra and I want it painted Transparent Black… The legendary Cobra absolutely needs no introduction to players already familiar with Anderson Guitarworks. Cobra was created to pound forth with ultra musical, midrange muscle and take no prisoners. Originally, this was thanks to its all-Mahogany superstructure, shorter 24 3/4-inch scale length, twin humbucker layout and a gorgeous Maple Top. Strapping in, Cobra is a familiar hang while the addition of super comfortable front and back body contours make playing it all night long even more desirable. Much like Carroll Shelby and his Cobra, there was great delight in taking the Anderson Cobra out at night…and establishing unquestionable musical dominance. This masterful monster is headed to Midwood Guitar Studio in Charlotte, North Carolina. A guitar very significant to us, to you and to our history: You just might love taking Cobra with you to Barbados, as your only axe, or having a jam on Monkey Man…

3. The Classic, so named because as this model first appeared on the scene all those years ago, it was a complete revolution to the classic style instrument genre—elevating every aspect to an entirely new level of high performance—and with many new options if so desired. And yet, all done with a vintage heart soundly intact—because those were our roots as well. We just wanted to make the experience of a classic guitar so much better than it had ever been before. We used to say, “We took the vintage guitar of your dreams and improved it.” Traditional body and neck wood options lay its foundation, this one in Swamp Ash with an all Maple neck. Appearing in Bora Bora Blue this may be the most popular color and model in Japan—and beyond. The Classic, with its Swamp Ash body, finished in this most desirable Bora Bora Blue is headed for Danville Music, in Danville, California. A guitar very significant to us, to you and to our history: A Classic like this could certainly be comfortable in the hands of a Japanese superstar…

There will be only 40 Limited Edition, 40th Anniversary Guitars created. 20 unique builds. This essentially means two renditions of each exclusive instrument—with a variant here and there. We will showcase them on our website in Guitar Tales and in an exclusive Anniversary section to share them with you and to let you know which Anderson dealer is getting what guitar so you can grab yours before they are gone.

Each of these special 40th Anniversary Guitars will include:

• Super-choice, “Personalized Selection” tops and special woods chosen from our secret archival stash.
