Believe It Or Not
/Surprisingly and understandably we still get questions about our most ubiquitous colors.
What does Tobacco Burst look like?
Tobacco Burst is also often referred to as Two Color Burst—one of the original electric guitar colors appearing in the early 1950s. And yes it's true, since these colors are transparent they must slightly vary in hue, influenced by the natural shade of the underlying wood.
But Two Color Burst has actually been 2 different color schemes over the years—Transparent Yellow bursting outward to Transparent Brown or Transparent Yellow transitioning to Black.
And of course each manufacturer puts their own artistic flare upon these two closely related 2 Color variants.
We have always opted for the richer, dark brown wood-like hue at the outer perimeter—hence the more descriptive 50’s name: Tobacco Burst. More specifically, Anderson Tobacco Burst is comprised of a richer, warmer transparent autumn yellow center splaying out to a deep transparent dark brown edge. Traditional and so gorgeously lush.
Carefully selected Swamp Ash is the body wood influencing this one’s hues while more importantly acting as the genesis for big bottom end, open middle and soft, shimmering highs that enliven and support gorgeous single coil tones concurrently reaching from the stage.
And once you have touched an “Ande,” you do become distinctly aware that Anderson is the best playing, best sounding electric guitar on Earth. But there is another secret that can elevate you and your playing life to new heights…really! Maybe some would call it the Anderson advantage. What is this secret?
