And Then There Were Three

Anderson Guitarworks Anniversary celebrations are virtually exploding, as the end of the year draws near, with three Pro Ams, all laid out with our Visual Assault graphic paint scheme.   

It was the late 80s. The guitar playing world was seriously beginning to realize the amazing superpowers of the Anderson Pro Am—supreme playability, wonderful tone, and stellar overall handling.

This time…we also wanted something visually viable and outstandingly dynamic for an artist we had in mind.

And we did it just like this:

A wild, fun and unique graphic designed by Kelly McGraw and silk-screened onto the guitar by Kelly McGraw and Benny Rodriguez. Pat Wilkins clear-coated it, and it became the Anderson Visual Assault.

Funny tale that goes along with the creation of this guitar:

At that same time, this was all happening, we were rebuilding Eddie Van Halen’s original #1 guitar—putting a new neck on it for him. He stopped by to pick it up and saw the first Visual Assault body lying out, ready for final assembly. He commented, “Hey, that guitar looks just like...” and then he named the exact artist we had in mind for this distinctive Pro Am.

Now, how is that for intuitive? Fun, huh? Kind of seems as though it may all have been meant to be. Like the whole 80’s musical “universe” was in alignment. Ha

We actually did a few of these guitars. The visuals were so outstanding that they also fueled an entire line of Anderson Guitarworks T-shirts with this graphic, in a variety of colors. Our first Anderson T-shirt line. I still have some stored away in the back of my closet.

It’s the fantastic end-of-year finale of our 40th Anniversary Anderson Guitarworks celebration. Thank you all. Much like the ending of a spectacular fireworks show, where they blast a blazing array into the sky in rapid succession, we will be displaying  our own blazing array of the most spectacular Anniversary Andes EVER!!  Check back frequently during these days.
